A POLICEMAN STABBED.

Per Press Association. L'almerston N., Saturday Night. ' On Saturday afternoon Constable Connor was stabbed in the abdomen by William Waugli, a well-known farmer, ill' Stony Creek, when arresting him for drunkenness. Waugli is 7:{ years of age. The weapon u.sed was a pruningkuil'e, and the wound is a serious one, Connor behaved pluekily, and with the j assistance of a bystander got Waugh into a eub before giving way. Medical assislanee was ealled, and Connor was conveyed to the hospital, where he is progressing satisfactorily.
