Mr. James lbittcnbury, of Waitara, who has been on a pleasant hoi id ty visit to England, in writing to a friend on October 2'Jtli stated that lie expected to leave London by s.s. \ ictoria on November 22m1, to arrive in Xew Zealand 011 January 7th. ilr. Thomas (Jucree, one of the deparpartmental heads of the D.1.C., AYcllington, was in town yesterday, and proceeded to Auckland last evening on an extended holiday owing to ill-health.-A Palmcrstou telegram announces that ilr. Stanley S. Hume, fifth son of Colonel Hume, lias died at the early age of J2 years. Deceased w'as quite well 011 Saturday, when he ivas seized with sudden illness arising out of an internal complaint. Two operations were pelrformed, but death ensued yesterday.
