A friendly match between Chrringtonroad and New Plymouth junior teams was played at Tukapa yesterday afternoon, resulting in a win for Carringtonroad on the first innings by 27 runs. The town team closed their second innings with three down for 52, and C.ir rington-road had lost three for 20 in the second innings when stumps were drawn. In their first innings New Plymouth only made 20, of which H. Rilling contributed #, Lye 2, F. Whittle 2, Shaw 3, and G. Whittle 1. The rest failed to More. Foote was very successful with the ball, securing six for 7 runs. In their second Tenture <"!. Whittle contributed 26 and Petty (not out) 20. For Carrington-road first innings. Sehlierike 4, W. McEwen 7. Papps fi. Thomas 4, Hooker 6, and Bullot 7 were the principal scorers. Tn their second innings Papp was principal scorer with 14. Cooke took three wickets for 3 runs in each innings.
