COUNTY OX' TAKANAKi. rjyiE Council of the County of Xaranaki hereby makes by way of special order the following By-law under "The Counties Act 188 li"and its Amendments and under "The Public Works Act 1005" which By-law shall come into force on the first Day of January 1908. A By-law of the Corporation of the Chairman Councillors and inhabitants of the County of Taraiiaki. WiIKIIEAS the Council of the County of Taranaki is of opinion that the conduct of all or any of the particular kinds of traflic mentioned in clause 1 of this by-law will cause serious injury to the roads under its control AND whereas it is expedient to make a by-law for the purposes hereinafter contained jNOW the Council oi the County of Taranaki being the local authority in that behalf 111 pursuance of the powers conterred upon it by "The Counties Act iSSU" and its Amendments and by sejfens 151 and 152 of "The Public Works Act I'JOD" and of every power thereto enabling it hereby ordains this By-law as follows; — 1. No person shall conduct or cause to be conducted all or any of tlio following particular kinds of traiiie—unit is to say the carriage oi timber in logs, sawn timber, split timber, lire wood, stones, broken metal or gravel—upon or along any road under the control 01 tae council of the County ot 'iaranaki unless the cost as esti: mated by the said Council of reinstating the road consequent upon tiie injury to be occasioned by suca tranic upon or along which such tr.allie is to be conducted is previously paid to it, t. No person shall drive lead or conduct any vehicle contrivance or macliine containing or Having thereon any timber ,u logs, sawn, timber, spiit timber, liruwood, stones, broken metal, or gravel, upon or along the said roads unless the cost as estimated by the. said County Council of reinstating Die roaa or roads consequent upon tiie injury to be occasioned by alien trallic upon or along wnich such trallic is to be conducted is previously paid to it. lor the purpose of ascertaining the cost ol re-instaLtng tiie road upor along whicii such trallic is to be conducted any person desirous of conducting such trallic upon or along any such road may make an application to the said County Council in the form oi the Schedule hereto. ■l. No person shall make any application to the said County Council pursuant to this by-law containing any untrue statement nor conduct the trallic mentioned in any application oil any other road or roads in any other manner or at any other time than therein stated. 5. SCHEDULE. APPLICATION TO FIX COST OF KE-INSTATING IiOAD. I (Name in full) of (Address) (Occupation) hereby apply to the Taranaki County Council to fix its estimate of the cost of re-instating roads in the County of Tarauaki upon which 1 propose to conduct trallic. I propose to engage ill the conduct of the following trallic, viz.
