DECLINE IN WOOL VALUES. Per Press Association. Wellington, Friday. The ileeline in values which was noticeable in the opening wool saleß of the Wellington series again prevailed today, when the second sale was held. The wool offered was not of very good quality, though there were a few lots that were exceptions to the rule. For these finer wools there was active demand, lmt in respect of others the November drop was accentuated by %d to and even Id per pound.
MR. NEWTON KINO'S WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. At the Ilaymarket on Saturday there uas only a moderate entry of pigs, i'orkcra made 30s to 375; stores, 15s (id 20s; slips, lis to 12s lid; horses, £3 :2s (id to £4. At the mart, my poultry pens were « ell filled, and good prices were realised, i'licks making 4d to 11 Id; hens, Is lOd to 2s 8d; roosters, Is 7d to 2s !)d; I Micks, Is !)d to 2s 7d. A quantity of furniture and sundries made low prices. Fruit—The following prices were obtained at sales during the week: (iieen bananas, :is to 8s; ripe bananas, 2d Hi: pines, 2s to o*, according to condition: lemons, 7s to 0s; gooseberries, 7s; cherries, 20s; oranges, Ids to 20s;
green peas, 3d to 8d; new potatoes, Id to l'/id. Cattle—On Thursday, 28th instant, my annual sale of pure-bred stock on the Show Ground was well attended, in spite of the bad weather, and although prices were not as high as those obtained earlier in the season, the figures readied were as high as expected, and epiite satisfactory to vendors. On behalf of .Mr. A. Buchanan, of Palnierstoii North, 1 sold the 4-year-okl bull, ,St. Brelade, for 2ti guineas; two yearling bulls at 15 and 30 guineas respectively; three bull calves, at (i, 10, and 17 guineas; on account of Mr. S. R. Lancaster, I'almerston North, six yearling bulls at prices ranging from lo'/ 2 to IU'J guineas; on account of Mr. M'Lenuau" unc yearling bull, 17 guineas; on account of Mr. U. M. There a good attendance of buyers, and ahliougn price" were lower than the exceptionally high rates obtained the previous month, the majority of lines wcic quitted at satisfactory prices. 1 calling steers made 42s to -Ids odmixed do, 28s tid; heifer do, 20s to 27s od; 2-year slips do, £2 8s Od; 2 to £'/„■ year steers, £3 3s to 13 18s; 3 to 3V, year do, 15 Is to 15 7s; store cows, -8s Od to o2s; forward do, 13 5s to I'd His; fat do, .14 0s to 15; dairy cows, £3 to 17 10s; bulls, 12 4s to £3; fat hoggets, 15s 3d; ewes, 17s 3d; weauers, pigs, 12s to 13s. We quote:—Hens, ordinary 2s to 3s Gd, pure-bred trios 10s Gd, roosters Is 9d o 2s (id, cockerels 2s to 2s !M, ducks Is lOd to 2s 4d, turkey gobblers 10s Gd to lis, turkey liens 4s «d to 5s Gd, chicks 4d to 7d, broods 4s Ud to 7s. Fruit is scarce. Strawberries and American oranges have come to haud this week. TICKERS & STEVENS' REPORT.
