The trial of thirty-seven Social Democrats, members of the second Dounia, ud seventeen soldiers and civilians for beiDjg mixed up in an alleged military regicidal plot has begun here. A public hearing was refused. Thereupon the accused asked to be sent back to prison. They instructed counsel to withdraw. The prosecution then proceeded in their absence. The party issued a statement that the Recusation ig baseless and bnt a pretext the alteration in the electoral A hundred thousand workmen and fttndents in St. Petersburg and Moscow have struck in sympathy with accused.
