PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH.
The quarterly meeting of the New Plymouth circuit of the Primitive Methodist Church was held on Wednesday evening. The Rev. A. Harding presided. There was a large attendance. The linanccs, despite wet weather, were shown to be very satisfactory, the circuit fund being clear. It was decided to leave the arrangements in connection with the visit of the Rev. J. Flanagan, early in April, until after the conference. Delegates to the conference were appointed as follows:—Rev. A. Harding, -Messrs. C. E. Bellringer and W. Chatterton.
Ummimous invitations were extended | to the Rev. .'I. Guy (Chrfetehurch) as superintendent, and flic Rev. A. ArrtP' strong as second minister for the circuit For next year. Both have since been accepted, A committee was appointed to consider a scheme for improving the finances of the country church/a. The question of union, which will lie considered at the conference, was discussed. Tiro meeting was favorable to union, but considered it would be unwise to place, the matter before the churches until the Weslevan Methodist Church was apart from the Methodist Church of Australasia.
