NLW i'LIMOUT'II LAST v. CAK-LTAin'ON-KUAD. The above lixture eventuated yesterday afternoon on the T'ukapa ground. Although keen interest centred in the game, tliere was only a handful of spectators. The suburban team entered the lists 1 airly coulident of victory, but once again the "glorious uncertainties of cru-kut" were in evidence. The outfield was not at all conducive to good cricket, the grass being almost knee-deep, but the wicket played well. The inconvenience in liclduig affected both teams, but the winners must have been more used to the pastures, for they were immensely superior in this department. Carring-ton-ioad batted lirst, and compiled (12. New Plymouth's innings opened disastrously, only 23 appearing on the board for six wickets, and only two runs for the fourth, fifth, and sixth. Then Parker stopped the rot, and with Trice kept up the wicket until the dangermark was passed. Scores:—
