ITS JUST LIKE A WOMAN.
To shriek at sight of a mouse, and to save a child from drowning. To keep two maids, and do half their work herself. To save a farthing on a reel of cotton, and spend a pound on a smart hat. To lose a bet, and forget to pay. To marry in haste, and never admit that she repents. To buy her husband's neckties, and cry because he doesn't wear them. To declare that bhe has nothing fit to wear, and appear like a bird of paradise. To sight for wealth, and to be happy in a cottage when misfortune comes. To be furiously jealous, and declare there i< nothing the matter. To wear a torn petticoat and a silk skirt. To rail a man '"brute" one minute and "darling"' the next. To wish she were dead, and yet set off by the next train to a matinee.
