In tins case £he Privy Council was petitioned direct »y Victoria and New South Wales tor leave to appeal against the decision ot the Federal High Court, which held tliat Federal officers' salaries were not liable to taxation by the State. The Judicial Ponunittee of the Privy Council has refuted leave to appeal without calling pa counsel for the Commonwealln. No Order was made as to costs.
