Investigation proves the fish to be a tachinotus ovatus, which lias not previously been known to grow longer than ten inches. The stomach of one was filed with crushed shell and yourur oysters. ' *

ISLAND MISSIONARIES. Melbourne, November 28. The allegations made against the ' Presbyterian missionaries in the New Hebrides by the High Commissioner of the Western Pacific, have been answered in a lengthy letter, which the Foreign Missions Committee of the Church has requested Mr Deakin to forward to tile Secretary for the .Colonies. The committee asserts that the missionaries hare tried to strengthen ithe bonds between Australia and the New Hebrides, and i rges the Secretary for the Colonies to thoroughly investigate the Commission- ' er's charges. ARMENIAN MASSACRES. ' Berlin, November 27. Herman newspapers report a serious renewal of the Armenian massacres under the notorious Ibrahein Pasha, One hundred and forty Diafnekin villages have been destroyed.
