Per Press Association. Duuedin, Last Night. At a meeting of the linkers' Association to-day, it .was decided to reduce the price of bread from 8d to 7'/ 3 d per 4ll> loaf from Monday next. A .special meeting of the City Council was held to-night to consider Noyes Bros.' claim for commission for work done in connection with tiie Waipori electrical scheme. Noyes Bros, originally claimed £10,953, and the Council offered €7500, and the former afterwards offered to accept €10,041. After considerable discussion in committee tlu Council decided to adhere to the offer of £7500. The issue of sixty-six debentures of £IOO each by the Otago Harbor Board has been taken up in one parcel at £lO9 17s fid each.
