SWIMMING.
The bath* were well patronised yesterday morning. The temperature of the water has improved considerably in the last Meek or two. Hood entries are being received for the various events to be decided at the gala to-morrow night. A feature of the evening will be an exhibition of fancy swimming by an ewhampion of .Scotland, comprising swimming in various slvlcs. sculling, ami iimlimile.-s floating. Seats will be provided for the public. Additional particulars appeal' in the advertising columns of this issue.
A regular habitue of the baths presented himself yesterday morning in a tight-fitting costume of brilliant scarlet. The unwonted hue was the subject of considerable "barrack." bill the owner of the suit let the compliments run like the salt water from his back.
Combs and brushes are now provided at the baths for the use of bathers. They are lirinly fastened by chains alongside the mirrors. lc~t they should at some time swim off. The refreshment-rooin is a useful institution. Hut scores of visitors know not of its existence. Why not paint "refreshment-" upon the window?
