KIRSTY'S WAY OUT.
Clank ! clank ! clank ! What dreadful sounds are these breaking the stillness of the Sabbath morning? In haste, Mrs Elizabeth MacTavish leaves the fireside, and goes in search of the cause of the disturbance. In the garden she find: her husband nailing a board on the bottom of a barrow. "DonaF, man." she savs, "ve're makin' an awfu' row. What wulf the neebors think?"
"Never mind them, Kirstv," savs Donal', "I maun Ret my barra' mcndit." "Oh, but, Donal'," savs Kirstv, "it's vera wrang- to hammer on the Sabbath. Ie ocht to use screws."
