The Southland Education Board held a conference to-night with several medical men to discuss a scheme of medical inspection of school-children formulated by Dr. Mason in July, 1!)06. This Board claims to be the firet that made any attempt at a practical method of carrying out. the Health Officer's wishes, though several teachers' institutes had favorably considered fho matter. The general feeling expressed by the medical men was that satisfactory results could' bo obtained only by inspection by medical experts.
