QUEENSLAND POLITICAL CRISIS
, MR KIDSTON'S ATTACK. Brisbane, November 21 In the course of his attack on the Government, .Mr. Kidston, ex-Premier said his Ministry had got into trouble' simply owing to lug consideration for the Governor, which prevented him from doing what Mr John Ballance had done in New Zlaeand—ignoring the Governor and going direct to the Imperial authonties. He declared Mr Philp was the only Premier Queensland had ever had who would hold office because the Governor held a shield over him Mr Philp announced that when the House met again he would move for supply. When that vote was taken he would tell the House what he intended to do. The House then adjourned until Friday.
THE DISSOLUTION QUESTION. Received Nov. 22, 0.11 a.m. Brisbane, November 21. ~ meeting of Kidstonites discussed the situation. It is understood that nothing definite was decided upon. It is believed that Mr. Philp will meet the House to-morrow and give the Opposition a chance of withdrawing their refusal to grant supplv. Failing this, Parliament will probably forthwith prorogue, preliminary to a'diVnlution. It is rumored, on the strength of Mr. Kidston's hint at further mea«ira to fight the matter, that a memorial has been sent to the Secretary of State for the Colonies seeking intervention to prevent the dissolution.
