The weather was fine and the wicket sound and.good for tlie fifth day: The visitors were timed to leave by the Sydney express, and only till 4.15 to pull up their big deficit. Fighting a stubborn up-hill battle, they succeeded in making a drawn match. With lour wickets down for 115, the outlook was anything but promising. For the ninth wicket, Bardsfsff and Barnes contributed a century, the latter contenting himself with keeping up hia wicket, while Hardstaff rattled up the runs, and the innings closed with nine wickets down for 422.
