AXEMEN'S CARNIVAL.

Per Press Association. I Eltham, Wednesday. Record entries have been received'for I the Axemen's Championship Carnival to be held at Eltham on 26th and 27th December. The number is fifteen above the total for last year. Altogether 24!) axemen and sawyers have been nominated for eleven events. Late entries are expected from Victoria and Tasmania. I here are fifty entries for the axemen's cup of £l4O, and thirteen pairs for the double - handed sawing championship. Nuley, the Australian champion axeman, and Thomas I'ettitt, the world's chain- I pion sawyer, will compete at the carnival.
