J tie city has been anxiously awaiting the result of negotiations which were proceeding all day between Mr. Wade remier) and the representatives of proprietors and miners. It was announced to-night that the miners had accepted Mr. Wade's proposals for the appointment of a tribunal to settle the strike. The proprietors meet to-morroiv to give a final decision. A report, which, however, lacks official confirmation, states that the proprietors are prepared to accept the tribunal, and that to-morrow's meeting is onlv of a formal nature, and the trouble is' virtually over.
