Per Press Association. , Wellington, Last Night. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Shipping Company was held to-day. The balance-sheet showed a net profit on the year's work, after deducting depreciation and all charges, of £42,143. The balance brought forward from the previous year was £15,751, making a total of £55,894. The proposed dividend of 5 per cent, will absorb £23,692, transferred to interest aecount £21,442, and carried forward £10,760. Tihe company's fleet is valued at £974,497. Investments amounted to £83,941, and land, buildings, and plant £44,369. There is a fleet of sixteen steamers of 104,383 tone.
