At the Supreme Court to-dtiy George Cowan, who had been found guilty of stealing £l3 belonging to David .Morgan, at Feilding, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. Patrick Brcely, charged with committing damage in a Palmereton hotel, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. Wellington, Last Night. A young man named Daniel Desmond O'Brien was charged with stealing £4, a watch, a knife, and a key from the person of Jacob Sorensen at Dannevirke. Prisoner pleaded not guilty to "stealing," but admitted "taking" thirty shillings of Sorenson's money. This plea waes accepted by the Crown Prosecutor, and the prisoner was remanded till Saturday for the probation officer's report. Thomas Hayes, a young man, pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing sovereign-case and £o 10s from a dwelling at Dannevirke. Accused was found not guilty. Christchurch, Tuesday. Lilian Fanny Hobbs was acquitted of a charge of attempted concealment of birth. Christchurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, Rowland Wilfred Langdown was acquitted on a charge of making a-false statement to the Registrar of Marriages concerning the age of his wife. James Mclntyre was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for burglary, and Frank Taylor to eighteen months' imprisonment.
