In the Council, which met at eleven, the Public Service Classification Bill was put through its final stages and passed. The Public Health Act was reported with ai number of minor amendments, .md the Council adjourned at 5.30 till 7.30. The Council resumed at 7.30. p.m. The Chinese • Immigrants Restriction Bill was reported without amendment mil passed. The Co-operative Dairy Companies Bill was passed with minor amendments. Local'lliUs passed by the House today were received, read a first time, and referred to the Local Bills Committee. The Divorce Act Amendment Bill was read a third time and passed. The Rangitutau Block Exchange Bill was put through all its stages, and the Council rose at 10.15. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES In tile House, tho whole of the Bills put through their committee stages in the morning were read a third time and passed. The Waimate North County Bill and Opunake Harbor Bill were committed and progress reported thereon. Ajmendmenta introduced by Governors' Message to the Infant Xife Protection Bill were agreed to. The amendments made in the Council : ro the Pablic Trust Office Amendment Bill were agreed to and the House adjourned at 5.30. The House disagreed with the amendments made in the Council to the Fac- , tories Act Amendment BilL '* The Public Service Superannuation : Bill was read a second time, put through • committee, and reported. -Hie-Stock Act Amendment Bill and , Packet Licenses Bill were read a Becond . time.
