I lie nomination-papers in connection with Hie election of a representative of t ie workers on the Arbitration Court slimy that Mr. McG'ullough, who was until recently a tinsmith in the railway workshops at Addington, and whose name has been much in evidence of late on account of the circumstances of his retirement from the public service, ha! secured a majority of the nomination! i of .the trades unions throughout th( i Dominion. The question of appointim i ™. Ppf't'on (at present held hj; ! Mr„ Robert Slater), in accordance wit! the recommendation of a majority o , the unions, is now under the considera lion of the Minister for Labor. Mi Samuel Brown, of Wellington, the pre sent representative of the employers oi the Court, was the only person noniiu ated for that position for the ensuini term. Mr W A. Pryor, general seerc tary of the Employers' federation o aou Zealand, has hmi nominated a the deputy representative of the en plovers. As there was no other nominr tiou, he will, of course, l>e elected.
