The first wicket fell at seven, but after that a iine display of cricket was given, and tlie continuation of McKenzie and Mi.cAlister was a highly meritorious performance on a dillicult pitch. Tarrant and Ransford treated the bowlers with more freedom, Tarrant especially playing a lively game. The Englishmen did not shine in the field, dropping several cateiies.
