DOG'S SACACITY.
0 _ RETURNS TO OPERATING TABLE BY ITS OWN FREE WILL. Mr Marcos Stevenson, M.R.C.V.S., the veterinary surgeon who often gives evidence in horse cruelty cases at Highgate Police Court, has told an interesting story of c.inine sagacity. One evening a gentleman took ;■ leautifnl Japanese collie dog, which was suffering from a serious and. painful affection of the lffi-eir. to Air Stevenson's surgery irr"Cimden-road, Hollowoy.
-Mr Stevenson operated on the animal, which was then taken by its master to his home over a mile awny. On the following evening the dog found its way unaccompanied to the surgery, and, as soon as the door was opened, jumped up on the operating table, and waited until the veterinary surgeon could attend to it. Every evening since, punctually at eight o'clock, the dog has visited the surgery in the same manner and submitted to the same process, which, says Mr Stevenson, most he a painful one, and has then gone home again.
