PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD
(From Our Own I'orreHpondent.) ' The ordinary monthly meeting was hold at Rabotu on Wednesday. Present: Messrs. d. iuiLhery iciiainuan), J. C. O'Rorkc, J, Young, M. Dugan, and A. Chapman. Ihaia-road.—Resolvotl, That the foreman lay oil the work in connection with the grant from the Public Trustee. Bayly • road. Resolved, That the Boards Mall do 15 chains of metalling on this road. Stent-road. —Resolved, That 100 cubic yards of boulder rstone be procured. Beach shingle. Resolved, That 25 yards of good beach shingle be carted tor making pipes. Xgariki-road. —Resolved, That T. Willcox be notified to proceed with his formation contract. Saunders-road. —A. W. Phillips asked for something to be done on tliirt road so as to get his cattle along. W. Hodson also asked for some improvement near his place, and offered to assist. Resolved, That the work as asked by Mr. Hodson bo done. Xgariki-road.—T. Willeox applied to have outlets cleaned near his propertyForeman to report on same. — Mollitt and Goodwin wrote ~pointing out the unsatisfactory state of the road, and stated that unless something were done they would have to reduce their herd. Resolved, That the foreman report on the road n»d make an estimate of work up to C 55. Ihaia-rond loan.—Messrs, C. Sorrenson and D. O'Sullivan waited on the Board and pointed out the injustice of being included in the loan, as they were already included in two. When they raised a loan they excluded the top settlers, so that they could at some t'mm get a loan. Xow the top settlers wanted to bring the lower one* in.—The chairman said the petition for the loan wa« not before the Board, but if it did come before them the members would .see thai no injustice was done. Special meeting. Resolved, That z special meeting be held on 20th Novem her to pass special orders to give offec to the ward petition and to reduce tin number of members from seven to six. Werekino Road Board pointed ou that a portion of rates had not beoj credited to them; also asking the Pari hnka Road Board to extend the Punihi road loan.—The clerk was instructed t inform the Werekino Hoard that th rates had been credited to them. Th foreman is to be instructed to procee with the Puniho road. Special orders. Resolved, That th Tliaia special rate, Opouraha No. 2 loai and by-laws be confirmed. Arawhata-rond.—Mr. J)ec<ran drew a' t cut ion to the bad state of this roat and as there wore no funds availabl he suggested having a working bee, an the Board decided to allow a surface man to assist for three days. The tibial accounts were passed ft payment and the Board rose.
