The raimry monthly meeting of the New Plymouth Harbor Hoard was held yesterday. .There were present: Messrs J. B. Connett (chairman), G. McLean, 1 Jas. 1 homson, R. Price, J. Ward, D. J. ■ Hughes, J. lJine, jun., and E. Maxwell. A MISUNDERSTANDING. Mr Tlios. " 1 _ The harbormaster reported that during the month there had been 45 steam- ; er berthings at the wharves, the asitregate tonnage totalling 44,001 tons. Imports were 5000 tons, including CSO tons of railway coal, and 057 tons of private coal Exports were 1049 tons, bringing the total cargo handled to C 049 tons. ' the dredge had worked on 16 days making 213 trips, removing 12,780 cubic yards of sand from off the spit. FOREMAN'S REPORT. The foreman, Mr F. Henderson, reported that as the weather had been fme during the greater part of the month the work of breakwater extension had been earned on as continuously as' possible at the end of the wall. Consequently no concrete blocks had been 1 made. Altogether 1C43 tons of stone J had been quarried and tipped over the end, and one section of twelve feet * completed on the 4th inst, bringing up ] the total length of the extension to 344 feet. The preparatory work for {he .next section was well advanced, and given hue weather the section would be completed by the end of the week.
