WAllll Sl'OllTS CLUB. (By Our Special Reporter). The Waihi Sports Club held its' annual' meeting yesterilay under most favorable Til' 1 wi'-alher was perfect, and the attendance good. All the races were won fairly easily, with the exception of the Consolation Handicap, in which event Gold Bit and Oliver Twist provided ail exciting finish, not half a head separating them. The secretarial duties were most successfully undertaken by Mr A. George, who, while businesslike, was courteous to all enquirers. Glengariff and Trinket each won doubles during the day. Results as follows:

Maiden l'kite, one mile—Mr E. Putt's Swet-t Sylvia, 10.11 (C. Jackson) 1; Mr 11. George's Starfish, 10.13 (H. George),2; .Mr ]?. Halsoinbe's Tcss, 10.11 (B. I'iley) .'l. Also started: Haupuhi, 10.13 (C. Stockman), Huapuhi was the first to show out and led for a furlong, when he was joined by Starfish and Sweet Sylvia. These two cleared right away from the field,-and Sweet Sylvia won rather easily by three quarters of a length, Tess several lengths away third. Time, linin SOsec. Betting: Even money Sweet Sylvia, 5 to 4 against Starfish. 10 to 1 the others.

Hurdle Handicap, one mile and a-half. —Mr C. O'Sullivan's Glengariff, fl.lo (W. Fahey), 1; Mr S. McGuinness' Mangamaeliu, 0.12 (H. George), 2; Mr W. F. Hawke's Black Banner, 10.2 (C. Cochrane), 3. Also started. Mungo Park. 11.0 (C. Stockman). Glengariff made the running from the jump, and was never headed, winning in a canter hy .five lengths, two lengths between second and third.
