TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The Taranaki Agricultural Society's committee met lust night. Mr W. Ainpiesided, and others present were; Messrs E. Elliott, J. H. Street, A. H.'; street, F. Watson, A. Cliff, A. 15. Sykes, W. U. An anonymous donor offered a special | prize of live guineas for the best draught entire of three yonrs and over, standing or (ravelling in the Egmont| Tarnnaki and Clifton Counties, and passed as sound by the Society's veterinary surgeon. The offer was accepted, I with the proviso that the horses shown in this special class must also compete in the open draught classes. APPOINTMENTS. Mr A. Cliff was again appointed marshal for the grand parade. Mr A. W. Wood was elected to the committe, and appointed steward in the horse classes. Mr A. If. Street was "appointed steward to tlie Shorthorn classes. The secretary was instructed to attend the E«mont show at ITawcra to receive entries. NEW MEMBERS. A query was raised as to what constituted "orown bread" in the home Industrie., section- it was decided to recommend whole meal bread lo the nonee oi the judges, Ihe tender ol Mr A, L.
