THE FASTING CRAZE.
Per Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. In connection with the fasting feats reported from Wanganui and the state-1 ments that persons have gained renewed health by undertaking them, the somewhat cynical views of Dr. Bakewell are shared by other members of the medical profession in Auckland interviewed. Of the doctors interviewed by a Herald reporter to-day, not one was found who \v<is prepared to give credence to the story that any of the Wanganui fasters were abstaining from liquid as well as solid nourishment. The opinion was Unhesitatingly given that absolute starvation such as that would inevitably result in death in very much under the fifty days mentioned as the duration of one particular fast.
