TRAGEDY AT CHRISTCHURCH.
MURDER AND SUICIDE. Per Press Association. Christchurch, Wednesday. Some time ago a man named linns Willson attempted to murder his wife. He was sent to a lunatic asylum, but was recently released, and was believed > to have fuliy recovered. He was prohibited from obtaining liquor, and was apparently behaving well. This morning, however, he fired three shots at his wife, all taking effect. The woman is dead. After shooting his wife, Willson shut himself up in his room and fired twice at his breast. He lias been removed to tho hospital, but hopes of his recovery are slight. Ilis age is fifty years. He has five children. Clullehurch, Last Night. An inquest was opened to-night concerning the death of Mrs. Wilson, who was allot by her husband this lnoFnin". Medical evidence was given that the revolver wounds might not have caused death, and the inquest was adjourned till to-morrow for a post-mortem exi am illation. ' -
