Per Press Association. Wanganui, Wednesday. . Pleasant weather is being experienced fui' the Ill'sl day of Die \Y iuigiunii Agricultural Show, opened to-day. Thouga entries were not so numerous as anticipated, yet they were very large, and the show is a good exposition o) the capabilities of tlie district. The attendance is very good. The arrangements are all lbst-class. The Horses, cattle, and sheep all bear the stamp of line quality, and the other live classes are well filled with a good class of exhibits. Produce and wool again drew few entries, though what is shown is fairly good. Home industiies, as usual, provided a very line display, and, though there are not so many entries an last year, the exhibit has lost none of its popularity with the public. The public schools entries are liw and not particularly gooi|; but ' nragiiitkTUt" is the only word to describe the technical school exhibits. Fit-Id Battery took first prize in the thoroughbred stallion class.

Wanganui, Last Night. Tlio following were awarded first prize:—Thoroughbred entire, G. M. Cur- | ne's Field Battery; mare, J. H. Nixon's Vietn : : dr night mare, G. F. Moore's Nellie. Cattle was a strong class, Ayrsl.ires, Herefords, and Jerseys being the best. Jh« following were the winners of first prizes: -Shorthorn bull, Moore Hunter s Count Waterloo (champion); Polled Angus bull, J. J. Campbell's Duke 01 York; champion liolstein bull, Donald's Zuyder Zee; champion Ayrshire bull, Robert Boss' Governor; Jersey bull, (>nlliths and Cornwall's (New Plymouth) A\ild Cherry (said by the judge to be the best in the colony). Sheep were a big entry, English and Border Lcicesters and lioinno.v Marsh being the main feature. The following were awarded first prizes:—Lincoln ram. W. 11. Wybourne (champion); ewe and lamb, W. ][. Wvbonrne (champion). Dogs were 'a specially fine lot.
