THREATENED RAILWAY STRIKE
MR. LLOYD-GEORGE'S INTERVENTION. SOCIETY'S BALLOT FAVORS STRIKING. Received Nov. 3, 4.3 p.m. London, November 2. After two further conferences with the directors of the British railway companies, Mr. D. Lloyd-George has invited the men's representatives to meet him on Wednesday next, in c-ase he mavw have any proposal to submit. Meanwhile the advisory committee of the executive of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants unanimously resolved that the directors' refusal to Beet the association's representatives leaves no alternative but to enforce the mandate resulting from the ballot, which recommended the issue of notice-papers to the whole of the railway service. ■j*** .?* U * the sode -y' s secretary, deBtres that everyone wiU be called 'out.
