The St. John Ambulance Society yesday made collections throughout the most _ frequented streets from F early mormng till evening, and over £309 was collected, exclusive of some small returns to come in. In addition to this, the association's funds benefit to the ' extent of £SO by a bequest under tho will of the late Mr. T. H. McMenamen, of Terawhiti.
