A MAGNIFICENT PARADE. HUNTEII CO.UI'ETITiONS. (From Our Special Reporter.) Palmcrston N ortli, Last Night. There was a Magnificent parade, 212 animals taking part, as follows:—Cattle —'Shorthunis 12, Hereford* 5, Polled Angus 1, Ayrshire 22, Jersey 23, llolstem 0. llorses —Thoroughbred 5, Coaching 4, jwnics 37, Clydesdales 15, lorry teams 4, spring-cart horses 11, deliverycart horses 4, ladies' and gents' hacks 23, hunters 18, troopers 4, harness pairs 3, single harness horses 17. The hunters' competition was won by W. 11. lioulton's (New Plymouth) Alpine. Watson's Yeast was second and Alex. .Mitchell's Bushy Park third. There were 28 competitors, the leaping being especially good. On the whole the show is not up to its usual standard of excellence, several c.asses being numerically weak. Of implements, the display is limited. The display ol thoroughbred horses is rather disappointing, owing to the scarcity of exhibits. Sheep are in very strong force, especially llomneys and Lineolns. Two of the rams shown are ere ex-champions of the British Royal Show. The cattle showing are not on the whole up to show condition, the very wet and cold weather being anything but conducive to show-ring bloom. In draught stallions over 4 years, Mr 1\ A. Umuer (Ukaiawa) took Hie Ist prize and championship with Lord Lrskine, beating the last year's champion, .Bancur, belonging to Mr I?. Moore, of i\ui l\yi. Mr. J. Oughton, of Okaiawa, took second honors witn lioyal Crown in tlie draught class for colt foaled since August, Ist, JUU4. For lilly foaled since August l,st, 100-1. Mr J. Gamlin (Ivaupokouui) was awarded 2nd with Kaupokonui Glen, Mr W, Gadsby's Princess J-tuyal gaining the same award for lilly foaled sinee August Ist, IUUu. Jersey bull, calved since July Ist, I!JU4, Mr 'lhomas Lxley, of Inaha, scored Ist witli Cherry Magnet. Mr .Newton King canic iu for a big share of awards with his Holbtein-Prie-san show cattle. The white and black bull, &r l)e Kol Tuka Pietertje wore the Jirst aud champion awards in the class tor bull over '6 years. Other awards Unit went to Mr King's cattle j were:—lm. with Prince Uhac' and with Crown Prince lor bull calved sinee July Ist, 1 DUG; Ist with Galatea, and 2nd with Lieni for cow with calf; Ist vyiih Qiiein March l'or heifer calved since July Ist, 11)04; 2nd with Prince GiiJatea and 3rd witli Lady Kozine for heiler calved since Ist July, lUOo; Ist with Duchess fur heifer calved since July, lUUo; Ist with Duchess for heifer calved since July Ist, Ist with Lady and Homily for pen of two best heifer*.
In Lincoln sheep Mr W. Gadsby (11anutrthi) secured 2nd for owe over J8 mouths anil under 30 months, and 2nd for owe micler 18 months. -Mr A. !■'. Moore (New Plymouth) scored a third prize with his Cocker spaniel. Per Press Association. Paliuerstoii North, Last Niglit. The third day of the show was a very great success in every way, Although in the afternoon the weather became threatening, rain fortunately held off until nearly (i p.m., when a shower fell. A tremendous crowd was present, estimated at about twenty-live thousand. This gives [in aggregate attendance for the three days of nearly fifty thousand, and the takings amounted to about .C 1:100, being about £IOO better than the previous year. The judging was all finished yesterday, merely some ring competitions being left for decision. The results are as follows: —Leaping competition for ponies—J. Scott's Canteen 1, I''. In the section jumping and leaping competition a splendid fight was made for winning honors, and eventually the
