PALMERSTON SHOW.

Per Press Association. ralmerscon Worth, Last Night.' The weather was glorious for the second day's show, which was a tremendous success in every direction. It is estimated about twenty thousand people were present. Sir Joseph' Ward and a Parliamentary party were present. Ihe judging of the live stock divisions and the ring competitions were proceeded with.

Leaping Competition. J. MoNjven's Pickpocket 1, J. Mitchell's Bushy IPark 2, R. Morrison's Moonlight 3. Entries in the horses section were very good, and several fine animals were exhibited. In the thoroughbred class the palm for champion stallion was awarded to Mr. Duncan's Conqueror. Carriage horses, stallion, Mr. Handy, side's Britain's Pride; mare, R. McMurray's Trilby; weight-carrying hacks, J. H. McXiven's Juggler (champion hack in the show); light-weight hack, Mrs. Riddiford's Whipcord; horse most suitable as troop-horse, P. Wootton's Gonealay; lady's hack, P. Haggit's Jock' single harness horse, F, J. MacDonnld's Comrade; draughts stallion, F. A. Bremer's Lord Erskine, champion; heavy draught stallion, J. Mitchell's Starting Price; champion gelding, H. M. Siin" inonds' Captain Best; pair draught horses, H. M. Simmonds" Hooker and Captain.

In the cattle section, the Mount Herbert estate Duke of Beaufort was the champion Shorthorn bull, and A. M. Williams Buttercup the champion cow in Shorthorns. Mr. G. F. Moore's Ensign was champion Hereford bull", there being only one award. Aberdeen Angus, J S Handyside's bull. J. Kyle's Union Jack was champion Ayrshire bull, and J Kyle s Lassie was the champion Ayrshire cow, and Colman and Kaiston's Lily the champion heifer in the same breed. Jerseys were a very fine class, entries being very numerous and of good quality. E. Eagle's M.L.C. was champion bull, and P. J. Quirk's Lancelot reserve champion. J. McCrea's Primrose wis champion heifer in this section. In Ho stem-Freisan, Mr. N. King's Sir de Kol was champion bull,
