SYDXEY WOOL SALES. Received Uct. 111, 11.53 p.m. Sydney, October 31. At the wool sales the record price of li'/fcd was obtained for greases. LOXDOX MEAT MARKET. Per Press Association. Xapier, Last Xight. The C.C. and D. Company, Limited, London, to-day cabled the following report on the frozen meat market:—"Today's quotations are: Mutton, Canterbury 3%d, Xapier, Wellington, and .North. Island 3'/ 3 d; lamb, first quality j'/id, second quality s'/ B d; beef, hinds VM, fores 2%d." GISBORXE STOCK SALE. Per Press Association. Gisbome, Last Night. At the Matawhero stock sale, eleven thousand sheep were yarded, chiefly hoggets and dry ewes. A few pens of wethers sold well at late rates, but there wore not prime lots sold. The ewes were below recent prices, but hoggets were keenly coinpeted for. The first lambs of the season were submitted, but were not thoroughly fat. Nearly one thousand head of cattle was offered. The young stulf sold well, but dairy cows were hard to quit. Sheep sold at the following prices:—Fat wetheis 13s, shorn 225, prime fat ewes 18s (Id to 20s, medium fat ewes 17s 4d to 18s, stores 13s b'd to 15s 9d, ewc3 aad lambs 22s Id to 27s Od, prime fat hoggets 18s to 19s 7d: medium 10s to 17s, culls 14s lid to las 9d. Cattle sold as follows:—Fats toers C 4 !)s to .C 8 ins, fat cows Uto £ (i, store steers it 10s to £3 17s (Id, store cows ill 5s to .Ci 10s, heifers .-CI 7s to £3 18s. LOCAL MARKETS. "Rising prices for all cereals arc the rule. Wheat and Dour made another increase this week, and bran, pollard, potatoes, and onions have followed suit. There's a marked jump in potatoes, and onions are scarcely obtainable even at the advanced prices. Poultry is still in short supply, and good prices are being realised at auction. Present values:— "
