SEW PLYMOUTH EAST v. IXGLEWOOD." In the senior cricket competition yesterday the New Plymouth East team met the lnglewood eleven at Inglcwood, and wen by B'J runs to 47 on the first innings. For the winners Xicoll gave a very clean display of batting, and made a careful 3j runs. Jack (10), Price (10), and Dixon (11 not out) were the other double-figure scorers. Xicoll secured four Inglcwood wickets for 14, and Baker six for 18. The home team was unfortunate, Gudgeon losing his wicket without score in the first few overs. Inman's 18 was a fine innings. Crombie just reached the double figures. Their best bowler was Inman, who took four for 11. The visitors commenced a second innings, and compiled 30 for three wickets, Price making 21. XEW PLYMOUTH WEST v. CARRIXGTOXROAD.
The Xew Plymouth Club's West team met Carriugton-road on the Tukapa ground, and, after an exciting game, suffered defeat by four runs—B7 to 83. Xew Plymouth's last batsman was Ingram, with one arm incapacitated. He put up three, but a "break'' ball beat liiiti badly ill his crippled condition, and the match ended in a win for the suburban team. Fred Robertson made 49, but he should have been caught earlier, for he had five "lives." No other batsman in the team (of ten men onlyscored double figures. For the losers Archer made 16, Fewster 17, Weston 18, and Williams 18. The details of the scoring are:—
