.WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent). A rille match between AVarea and Rahotu was lired* at the long range on Saturday. The. visitors had the best of the shooting, and won. The following are the results:— WAIIEA.
| U2 145 289' A concert and dance was held in tho • hall on Thursday evening in aid of the ' .Ncwell-road school fund. There was a ! very large attendance, the hall being " packed. Visitors were present fnorn Oakura to Raliotu. The affair was a t great success both financially and other- - wise. The following programme was . given: —Instrumental selection, Ducker 1 family; song, Miss Cassie; mandoline . solo, Mrs. Watt; song, Mr. larking; 2 dolly show, school children; song, Mr. • t Watt; recitation, Miss Hazel Mason; s instrumental selection, Ducker family; j song, Miss J. Cassie; recitation, Miss A. . MacLachlan; song, Master S. Cassie; J mandoline solo, Mrs. Watt; trio, Misses , Cassie and Corkill; song, Mr. Watt. Mr. * Adlam gave an address oil. education . matters. Mr. A. Cassie, who presided, at „ the close of the concert, delivered a " short address thanking the people of r Warea for the way in which they had helped to make the concert a success. Tlio concert takings amounted Fo £i r lis. The room was cleared for dancing, s which was kept up until early hours on e Friday morning. The music was supy plied by Ducker's orchestra. Mr. Bruce r Anderson made a very capable M.C. At i midnight an appetising supper was . handed round.

W. 11. JULIAN'S TEAM.
Mr. Julian's team therefore won by 22 points. A meeting of the members of the library was held on Saturday night in the library. A lair number of members were present, Mr. W. McLachlan presiding. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed. The secretary was instructed to write to the Ilawera and New Plymouth libraries for their catalogues and price-lists for books they have for sale.
