NEW COOK STRAIT CABLE.
Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Owing to increasing work, a new cable, making the fifth, is to bo laid across Cook Strait from Lyall Bay to White's Bay. The cable is on the Opawa, due from London next week. The Tutanekai is now shipping cable-laying gear to carry out the work.
