A'IiWIOX KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION KISKMtT. At the Haymarket on Saturday a fair number of pigs came forward and sold readily/porkeis making 29s to 40s, small stores 6'd to llis (id, weaners 7s to 10s. Horses sold at £4 15s to £7. At the mart there was a good entry of poultry, and excellent prices were realised, a line of well-bred Brown Leghorns making 5s 2d, dueKs 2s 2d, roosters 2s, hens Is lOd to 2s 4d, pullets 2s 5d to 2s Bd, hen and fourteen ducklings los. Furniture and sundries made or- , dinary rates.
Fruit. are very scarce and realising extreme rates. Hobart apples are selling at 9s to 12s, Sydney oranges 5s to Bs, mandarins os to 8s (id.
Cattle. At Stratford on Tuesday cattle were yarded considerably in excess of advertised numbers. Several good lines of bullocks and stoie cows coming forward attracted plenty of buyers, the attendance being larger than usual. Bidding for the classes named was brisk, and nearly everything sold at the hammer at full ruling rates, In the dairy yards there was a good-entry of heifers, with plenty of competition, prices showing a considerable advance on late rates. Mixed yearlings made 25s Od to 32s fid, heifer 3 24s to 275, steers 39s to 50s, 2 to 2% year do £3 18s to £4 ss, 2'/ a to 3 year do £4 19s to £5 3s, 3 to SV 3 year bullocks £5 5s to £5 10s, empty heifers 35s to 425, store cows £2 10s to £3 18s, aged and low-conditioned do 25s to 365, fat and forward do £4 to £6. In the dairy pens springing heifers made £3 5s to £5 ss, cows £3 to £O. On Wednesday at Okato there was a fair attendance at Mr. John Gilbert's clearing sale. The cows were not an attractive lot, and, being in low condition, realised low prices. The ewes and lamb| met with keen competition and sold well. Dairy cows made 25s to 60s, springing heifers £3 7s 6d, 15 to 18 months heifers 41s, ewes and lambs 28s, sow and litter £2 10s 6d, 3-year filly unbroken £l2 10s, gelding £l2, yearling £O. Furniture and sundries mado fair prices.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Our usual sale of poultry was well attended on Saturday last, and prices were still lirm. Hens Is 9d to Is lid, pullets 2s to 2s Bd, ducklings Is each, roosters Is 7d to la 9d, cockerels 2s to 2s Od, ducks Is lid to 2s 4d. Followin;; we held a sale of furniture, which Bold at satisfactory prices. On Wednesday we held a sale of furniture on account of a lady and gent who have given up housekeeping. There was a good attendance, and good prices ruled. VICKERS AND STEVENS' REPORT. There was a fair muster of cattle in our Inglewood yards on Wednesday. Bidding was not so good for young stock, but springers were in good demand. Empty heifers made from £1 12s Cd to £2 Is Cd, store cows £1 5s to £2 10s, springers £3 to £6 7s 6d, forward heifers £5.
JENKINS, MATTHEWS & PIGOTT'S REPORT. We had a splendid yarding of all classes of cattle at Urenui on Monday. Bidding was fairly keen, and nearly every line changed hands. We quote: Weaner pigs 12s to 15s, mixed yearlings 30s to 38s Od, do. steers 40s Od, store cows 40s to 00s, 2-year steers 75s to 81s, fat cows £0 12s Od to £0 19s, forward cows 00s to 80s, cows and calves 57s to oils, empty heifers 44s Gd to 55s Od, springing caws 52s Od to 80s, 3-year steers 85s, dairy cows 75s to 82s Gd, springing cows 52s 6d to 80s, 3-year steers 85s, dairy cows 75s to 82s Gd, springing heifers Gss to 755, heifers and calves 10s to 555, yearling fillies £0 7s (id to £7 15s.
