SERIOUS RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
. SEVERAL OFFICIALS AND PAS- [ SENGERS INJURED. ROLLING STOCK HEAVILY DAMAGED. Received Oct. 26, 0.24 a.m. - Adelaide, October 2s. A serious railway collision occurred at Gawler. A Port Pirie train, with two engines attached, was entering the station, when it ran into a stationary goods train. Carno, the driver of the goodß train, was thrown out and badly injured about the head, and his condition is serious. Brighton, the guard of the passenger tram, had two ribs broken, and several others were slightly injured. The passengers received a severe shock, and one had to be taEen to the hospital. Miss Russell, a daughter of Commissioner Russell, was severely cut about the head. . A special train with nurses and doctors was speedily on the scene, and afforded relief. The damage to the rolling stock" is heavy, the three engines being considerably smashed, while a number of tmoks and carriages were also badly damaged.
