SUDDEN DEATH.
Per Press Association, Palmerston, Friday. W. Salmon, a well-known commercial traveller, died suddenly in the smokingroom of the Club Hotel this morning from heart failure. Deceased had been in town all the week, and was apparently in his usual health this morning. He had breakfast as usual and went to the sample-rooms. Before long he returned to the hotel, where he died in a few minutes.
Wellington, Last Night. Mr W. J. Salmon, manager ot the Wellington branch of the Kaiapoi Woollen Company, died in the Club Hotel this morning, apparently from heart disease. Deceased was hprn in Sydney in 1846, and came to Wellington in 1804. After some years with leading drapery firms, he entered the service of the Kaiapoi Woollen Coy. in 1884. Inj his younger day," Mr Salmon was a rather prominent cricketer. He leaves a widow and a family of three, two sonß, Mr Percy Salmon, of Fordell and Phillips, Wellington; and Mr B. L. Salmon, of Messrs Benjamin and Co.'s local staff; and a daughter (Mrs Rudman, wife of Mr Rudman, one of the masters of Wellington College).
