SUPPRESSION OF JUVENILE SMOKING.
Per Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. A case under the Juveniles SmnHn,. suppression Act was decided by the Magistrate to-day, a boy under fifteen years of age being charged with smoking a cigarette on the stair leading to the dress circle in the theatre. The Magistrate held that this was not a public place within the meaning of the Polico Offences Act, and dismissed the case. If the Smoking Prevention Act was to be effective, it should be made to &pplv to anybody found smoking, no matter where. Meantime the Act must remain to a large extent a dead letter.
