The Very Rev. Dealt McKenna, rf New Plymouth, is at present in Newtown parish, canvassing for the Wellington Cathedral fund. Mr S. Hill, District .Valuer, has obtained leave of absence/ and leaves i'oj* Wellington this moraine on a sii holiday. Constable G.regor, of the Masterton police iorcc, has received an appoint* went to tlie position of sergeant in the I'ijian Constabulary (says a Press wire). , -Mr. A. \V. Kutluirford Ims decided not. to seek re-election for the Hurunui seat .at the general election. He is going on tour (according to the Kaikoura Star), the principal places of sight-seeing being Australia, Japan, Europe, Britain, and America. I he lion. AF. Hall-Jones, syith his wife and daughter and private secretary, is still staying in London at the West Central Hotel (writes the London correspondent of the New Zealand Times), lie lnis made, a trip to Brighton, and also of crossing to Dublin to see the Exhibition, and a visit to his native Folkestone is also projected, His plans, however, will (K-pend upon medical advice. Although bis appearance would to indicate an improvement in the Minister is far from strong, and will have to take life very quietly for the next few weeks.
