Ho has a beautiful head, neck, and crest, well-sprung ribs, and strong, short-coupled back. Altogether, he is a most compactly built, well-put-togethcr specimen of a Clydesdale horse. WHAT'S WANTED as a yearling gained lirst prize at the Egmont A. and I. Society's Show, and first prize as a two-year-old at tlie Taranaki Metropolitan Show, His sire, Armadale, was got by that celebrated breeding and show-ring sire Glengyle, out of the fine breeding mare Nancy, who was shown until 13 years of age, and was never beaten in her class, She won nine first and tour champion prizes. Duchess of Alexander's gr. dam, Jenny was one of the best draught mares ever bred or imported to the colony, being dam of the New Zealand and Australian champion mare, Flower of Balmoral. His dam, Duchess of Alexandra, was a most successful prize.-winner, having gained the following prizes, viz.:' — First and champion at Tapanui. ( feouth Island) as a two-vear-old. First prize at Egmont A. and P. Society's Show. First and champion at Wanganui. First and champion at Taranaki. Fust prize as brood mare and champion prize as best draught mare or filly at Taranaki Metropolitan Show. • TO Stand this Season at Ms Owncr'B Farm, on the Mangawhero road, Riverlea, the Imported Hackney Stallion VICTORY. By Vanity Fair (6224, E.H.5.8.), out of Vanity (11539, E.H.5.8.). VICTORY is a brown horse, with, a small white star and black points, foaledin 1903, standing 15.2 and showing great quality and substance. His cannoil-bone measures B%in. He is a very stylish mover and possessed of a beautiful temper. His sire, Vanity Fair, represents the third generation of a brilliant line of sires, bred by Mr. Burdett Coatts, wherein the notorious high-stepping Norfolk blood of old Confidence lias been hardened and improved in size, bone, aud quality by successive crosses of Triffit's Fireaway, the great Yorkshire sire. His dam, Vanity, is by Vigorous (1215 E.H.5.8.) out of Lonely (048 E.H.5.8.). Vigorous is also the grandsire of that celebrated hackney, Hedon Squire (14308), the property of Sir Walter Gilbey, Bart. This famous hackney, besides winning innumerable firsts, championships, gold medals, and challenge cups at the principal horse shows in Europe, scored such phenomenal success at the Paris International Horse Show in 1900, where, besides winning 3 gold medals, 7500 francs in prizes, and being first and champion of his class, he was awarded the Grand Championship for the best horse at the Show, all classes and breeds included.
