The Duke of Rutlan'd, who has lately been saying some very fierce tilings about Socialism, enjoyed, when he was the Marquis of Gran'by. the rare distinction for the eldest son' of a living per of sitting in the House of Lords simultaneously with his father. He was summoned to the Upper House by writ ?n 1890 as Baron Manners of ITaddon, though it was as lord Granliy that he was always known, to avoid confusion with another Lord Manners, Bavon Manners of Foston, who is himself descended from the third son of the third Duke of Rutland. At St. Jqseph's Church yesterday morning the marriage took place of Mr. Marton Thomas Hearn, only son of the late Mr. Nicholas Hearn, of Waverley, and Miss Annie Beaumont Fisher, second daughter of Mi'. W. Fisher, of Waitara. The Rev. Father Maemanus officiated. The bride was attired in a dress of white sifi?: She wore orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet. She was attended liy Miss Tvy Fisher, her sister, and Miss Katie Hearn, sister of the bridegroom. Mr. .Toe Condon, cousin of the bridegrooin, was best man, and Mr Tom Fisher, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The bride was given away by her father. The service was choral. Subsequently the wedding breakfast was served at the White liart Hotel, a large number of guests being present.
