THREATENED RAILWAY STRIKE
'ACTION TAKEN BY LLOmUEORGE. DIRECTORS INVITED TO CONFER WITH HIM. i Received Oct, 20, 3.22 p.m. Lodon, October 19. The Hon. Lloyd-George, President of the Board of Trade, has invited the chairmen of the principal railways to a private and informal discussion with him of the whole situation. He declares he is not acting under any of the powers which the Conciliation A Confers on the Hoard of Trade. COMPANIES PREPARING EVENTUALITIES. Received Oct. 20, .1.22 p.m. London, October 19. The companies are arranging a Strike time-table. The Great Western Railway Co.. in a circular, asks their clerks whether they intend to remain loyal in the event of a strike and whether they are prepared to undertake dut'ei outside their grade.
