HALF-HOLIDAY QUESTION.

Kelson, Last Night. _ A few days ago a number of retail tradesmen announced their intention of observing the weekly half-holiday on Saturdays after New Year and remaining open on Wednesdays, the general half-holiday. A largely-attended meeting of retailers was held to-night, when it was resolved to form a Retailers' Association. A resolution • was adopted favoring adherence to the Wednesday half-holiday, and strongly protesting against any attempt to change to Saturday. It was resolved that the King's Birthday be recognised on Saturday, 9th November. ;
