[THE SHREWSBURY DISASTER. UTTERLY RECKLESS DRIVING. London, October 10 At the inquest on the Shrewsbury accident two signalmen and tlio guard testified that the train was running away fully sixty miles an hour, although the home and distant signals were at "danger." At the inquest regarding the Shrewsbury disaster the guard stated that the train left Crewe eight minuti-s late, and made up three minutes between Crewe and Shrewsbury. D.Lloyd-George, speaking at ! Manchester, stated it was certainly mysterious that three recent accidents had occurred to trains driven by capable and experienced drivers, who had rushed their trains madly to ruin at high speed, despite the danger signals. The Board of Trade has determined to sift the matter.
